Let's start with a little understanding of the basics of the Teach Unlimited platform before we elaborate the task. As we progress we believe you will concur with the philosophy of our platform
Bridging the gap between the simplicity of Twitter and the complexity of a cohort based teaching platform. Selective paywalls enable engagement and monetisation
Creating a DisCourse
Let's start by creating a DisCourse. Navigate to Teach Unlimited and complete the registration process. Click on the Bullhorn at the bottom right, fill up the details and click Update. Congratulations!!! You've just created your first DisCourse. It'll take about as long as composing a tweet. What's not so obvious so far is it's ability to transform into a complete course as we add collaborators and use the paywall selectively. We've added a few screenshots to better convey the process.
Adding, Editing and Navigating Content
It's now time to add some content, just enough to build interest and get some feedback before we go about elaborating further. We then go through the same process of adding content, build interest and getting feedback, giving a little and getting a little back in return.
We can add text, PDF, voice, image, links and even live video to the DisCourse. Content added is immediately previewed but not published.
Content can be moved up or down or deleted using the icons below the content to get it better organised and control the flow. Each piece of content can be selectively marked as paid or free by toggling the coins icon. Now that it's ready we can go ahead and publish the DisCourse.
Selective Paywalls to gauge interest
View the DisCourse as a reader to see how it looks. Notice the lock icon shown against the paid content. Readers can tweet each piece of content or the entire DisCourse.
Users pay with coins to unlock pieces of content they wish to view. Our current promotion entitles every registered user to 250 coins at signup.
Post the DisCourse as a thread on Twitter
Now for some magic. With the click of a single button we take the entire DisCourse and create a thread on Twitter. No more creating, organising and threading while creating content, a painful exercise.
Only text content marked as free (no images/links) will be posted to Twitter. Every tweet of the thread can be seen in the preview. Click the SIGN IN TO TWITTER AND POST button to authorise and tweet.
After you authorise, the tweet will be posted and the rendered thread will be displayed. You can verify that the thread has been posted by viewing your profile.
Commenting and Collaborating
Readers can add to your DisCourse in-line with relevant additions, citations, reviews, feedback, etc. These are not immediately published. Authors can view these comments and add them to the DisCourse as required or delete them. Once published, these comments will be visible in the DisCourse. This allows for healthy engagement without the risk of getting trolled.
